moving in new directions

My husband's ability to move has been restricted and my son's ability to move has increased.  Quite the contrast!

Jack has been laid up since Sunday because of a random, and very painful, stiff neck.  Literally he couldn't move his neck at all Sunday night (it had been sore since Saturday morning), and after a couple of hours in the ER with Guillermo (thanks, G!), he has been sleeping a lot of the past three days due to heavy pain killers.  Poor guy could never get his head/neck in a comfortable position ... not sitting, standing or laying down.  Today he is officially back at work, and though his movement is still not what it normally is, he's doing much better.

Seth, on the other hand, crawled for the first time yesterday!  I had been noticing him lifting his body up off the floor just on his hands and toes a few times in the past days, but last night he was laying on his tummy on our bed and sure enough, he scootched his knees up and made one, big crawl motion forward with one knee and one hand and then fell back down onto his belly.  Whoa!  Where did that come from!?  It's still amazing to me how babies just all of a sudden know how to do things.  It's like out of no where a trigger in their brains goes off and they acquire a new skill.  It's definitely time to baby proof this house!
